- W2170600931 abstract "The effect of carbon isotope substitution on ${T}_{C}$ in the intermetallic perovskite superconductor $mathrm{Mg}mathrm{C}{mathrm{Ni}}_{3}$ is reported. Four independent groups of samples were synthesized and characterized. The average ${T}_{C}$ for the $^{12}mathrm{C}$ samples was found to be $7.12ifmmodepmelsetextpmfi{}0.02phantom{rule{0.3em}{0ex}}mathrm{K}$ and the average ${T}_{C}$ for the $^{13}mathrm{C}$ samples was found to be $6.82ifmmodepmelsetextpmfi{}0.02phantom{rule{0.3em}{0ex}}mathrm{K}$. The resulting carbon isotope effect coefficient is ${ensuremath{alpha}}_{mathrm{C}}=0.540ifmmodepmelsetextpmfi{}0.03$. This indicates that carbon-based phonons play a critical role in the presence of superconductivity in this compound." @default.
