- W2170985686 abstract "The psyllid Triozoida limbata (Enderlein, 1918) (Hemiptera: Triozidae) is one of the main crop pests in guava culture since its feeding is directly connected to the suction of sap, mainly in new sprouts. The aim of this study was to determine the spatial distribution of adults and nymphs, as well as the spatial distribution of the psyllid attack symptoms in guava culture, and elaborate sequential sampling plans for these two developmental stages of the pest, as well as the proportion of leaves per plant with symptoms of psyllid attack. An experiment was carried out in the period from April/2011 to June/2012 in Taquaritinga / SP, on a plot of commercial guava orchard, nine years old, Paluma cultivar, which was divided into 100 plots. Yellow sticky trap was installed in a plant / plot (sampling unit) to capture adults, and sampled 8 new leaves / plant (sampling unit) in 50 guava plants for the counting of nymphs and observation attack symptom. To determine the insect distribution in the area the following dispersion indexes were used: variance / mean (I), Morisita index (I), Green coefficient (Cx), and the exponent k of the negative binomial distribution, and made fit tests to the Poisson and negative binomial distributions (for number of adults/trap and the number of nymphs/plant) and to the Poisson and positive binomial distributions (for proportion of plants with symptoms of psyllid attack). The distribution of the pest is presented aggregate (adults) to highly aggregated (nymphs), and leaves with symptoms showed regular or uniform distribution. The negative binomial distribution was the most appropriate model to represent the spatial distribution of the number of psyllids (nymphs and adults) in guava culture, while for proportion of leaves / plant with attack symptom, the best fit occurred for the positive binomial distribution. Sequential sampling plans (TSRV) were developed for number of psyllid adults / trap and for number of psyllid nymphs / plant (8 new leaves / plant), based on the negative binomial distribution, and the proportion of leaves with symptoms of psyllid attack per plant (8 new leaves / plant), based on the positive binomial distribution, and the maximum number of sample units for decision making were seven traps, 30 plants, and 18 plants, respectively." @default.
