- W2171544812 abstract "Germination is one of the most important processes during the life cycle of arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi (AMF) and the successful symbiosis establishment depends greatly on it. The objective of the present work was to evaluate CO 2 effect on the rate and homogeneity of Glomus mosseae spore germination under in vitro conditions. An experiment was established under a Randomized Complete Design with bifactorial arrangement and three repetitions including the study of different spore disinfection methods and germination conditions, through the use of Cloramin T and antibiotics, and a CO 2 atmosphere (5 %) in the spore incubation chambers. Results showed the positive effect of disinfection treatments on spore germination and contamination percentages, the use of a CO 2 atmosphere during incubation being an important requirement to get a full germination without detecting contaminants in only three days of incubation. This study permitted to reckon with a new methodology to guarantee a quick and successful germination of G. mosseae spores in absence of contamination, enabling the introduction of fungal propagules as inoculum during plant micropropagation" @default.
