After more than three decades of development, the Chinese electronics industry has begun to reach a good economy of scale, and become an emerging industrial sector with a relatively complete range of specialties that combine military and civilian applications and the efforts of both central and local authorities. Revitalizing the national economy has to depend on technological progress. Electronic technology is an important indicator of modernization. In this sense, without the electronics industry, there would be no modernizations. The Chinese electronics industry, however, lags far behind the world's advanced level and has a long way to go to meet the needs of domestic development.
