The dis cre pan cies in the va lue s of tran sport coefficients. degree of coupling and electrokinet ic energy conversions in two situ atio ns have been rationalized in terms o r polarity of tlows which is expected to arise du e to possib le formation of transi ti on layers at the interface. Moreover. the data demonstrate the formation of multi layer of liquid membranes at the interface. The trends observed in resis tance coeflic ients, degree of couplin g and energy co nversion corresponding to liqu id membranes suggest that the liquid membranes generated at the interface arc stabili zed when ethy le ne glycol is added in the dispersion. Also, th e anal ysis of th e data is indicative of the applicability or liquid membranes as model system s for biological membranes." @default.
