- W2183235923 abstract "System development methodologies allow to break an application system in different parts, the modules or components, thus providing a means to reduce complexity and to achieve necessary quality standards. However, most of these methods do not regard reusability as major goal of the development process. As reusability is one of the most promising attempts to improve productivity, it will be unavoidable to pay more attention to existing and eventually reusable components during system development. One possible way to reach this goal is to see the integration of reusable components as a quality criteria used in component development. To make reuse economically practicable, supportin concepts and tools must help the software engineer. A modified model for the development process, taking the reuse of components into regard, is presented. It is based on the idea of a software archive, which classifies and stores the reusable components, independent from their use in other applications. The structure and the dynamic behavior of the archive is discussed as far as necessary to allow to understand its functionality. Furthermore, on the basis of the proposed development model organizational implications supporting software reuse are derived." @default.
