Data presents mean ± SD from tripl icate determination (n=3) for 90 days feeding trial. Different concentrations (0.5%, 0.75%, 1%, 1 .25%) and control without chitosan incorporated with total fish feed in the form of dry diets for a period of 90 days. Experimental animals were challenged in tra - peritoneally with Aer omonas hydrophil a on 30 th , 60 th and 90 th day. Hematological parameters determined on the day 30, 60 and 90. The total erythroc s yte count, leukocyte count and heamoglobulin content were only significant (P <0.05) at 1% level and enha nced in chitosan supplemented groups. The biochemical parameters, serum protein, carbohydrate and l ipid content were significant ( P <0.0 5) compared to control groups. Specific growth rate (SGR) significant at 1% level (55.9%) and lowest in control group (29 .7%) and feed conversion ratio ( FCR ) value was found to be best in 1% chitosan fed group (1.85%) followed by 0.75% group (2.12%) and control group (3.15%). The im munological parameters Lysozyme and agglutination assays were significantly stim ulated in ch itosan supplemented groups showed highest value in 1% level group on day (53.21 and 18.5) compared to control. The experimental values w ere statistically significant (P <0.05). The present investigation suggested that the chitosan incorporated diets of Indi an major carp, rohu fish certainly enhanced the non - specific responses and reduced mortality and also improve the growth through shell fish wastes, that useful for practical aqu aculture." @default.
