- W2184622882 abstract "A great number of dynamic thermal models of building behaviour have been developed. Simplified models of global behaviour are useful for some specific purposes, for instance, retrofitting thermal evaluation of existing buildings. The advantage is, that when using a simple model, and introducing few data, it is possible to obtain an approximation of global thermal response for a given building. In this paper we have worked with external air temperature and solar radiation as relevant, exterior climatic variables, which influence the building thermal response correlating indoor and outdoor variables. Here, we use this correlation in order to obtain only the relevant frequencies of the response function. Thus, using the frequency spectra of these variables, we determine the correlations between them and the indoor temperature, and with these data we obtain the corresponding responses. Correlation spectra determine precisely the frequencies where the responses are actually important in order to reconstruct the indoor temperature. Thus we keep the relevant frequencies for the correlation as a filter for the thermal and radiation responses of the indoor temperature. Then we can describe the thermal building behaviour using both climatic variables with these filtered response functions. In this work we obtain the radiation and temperature responses for data collected every 10 minutes during a period of 21 days. Amplitudes of the filtered radiation and external temperature responses are calculated and plotted. The comparison between the experimental data and reconstructed indoor temperatures is shown. The filtered temperature response is mostly in the low frequency range, which implies that, the external air temperature influences the long-term variations. While the filtered radiation response is composed by relatively higher frequencies, evidencing the influence of direct solar radiation during about 6 hours of each day." @default.
