- W2185339042 abstract "A bstract:G ravitationalgreybody factors are analytically com puted for static, spherically sym m etric black holes in d{dim ensions, including black holes with charge and in the presence of a cosm ological constant (where a proper de nition ofgreybody factors for both asym ptotically de Sitter and Anti{de Sitterspacetim es isprovided). Thiscalculation includesboth the low{energy case| where the frequency ofthe scattered wave is sm alland real| and the asym ptotic case| where the frequency ofthe scattered wave is very large along the im aginary axis| addressing gravitationalperturbations as described by the Ishibashi{K odam a m aster equations, and yielding fulltransm ission and re ection scattering coe cients for allconsidered spacetim e geom etries. At low frequencies a generalm ethod is developed, which can be em ployed for allthree types of spacetim e asym ptotics, and which is independent of the details of the black hole. For asym ptotically de Sitter black holes the greybody factor is di erent for even or odd spacetim e dim ension, and proportionalto the ratio ofthe areas ofthe event and cosm ologicalhorizons. Forasym ptotically Anti{de Sitterblack holesthe greybody factorhasa rich structure in which there are severalcriticalfrequencies where it equals either one (pure transm ission) or zero (pure re ection, with these frequencies corresponding to the norm alm odes ofpure Anti{de Sitter spacetim e). At asym ptotic frequencies the com putation ofthe greybody factor uses a technique inspired by m onodrom y m atching, and som e universality is hidden in the transm ission and re ection coe cients. For either charged or asym ptotically de Sitter black holes the greybody factors are given by non{trivialfunctions, while for asym ptotically Anti{deSitterblack holesthegreybody factorprecisely equalsone(corresponding to pure blackbody em ission)." @default.
