- W2186255311 abstract "Abstract Recent interest in monitoring atmospheric carbon dioxide Jocusesattention on inJbared remote sensing using the 2-ym lidar/differentialabsorption lidar (DIAL) technique. Quantum detectors are critical com-ponents in this technique, and many research efforts concentrate ondeveloping such devices Jor the 2-_tm wavelength. In this report, thecharacterization results of InGaAsSb quantum detectors J or the 2-_tmwavelength range are presented, including the experimental setup andprocedure. The detectors are prototype devices manufactured by usingseparate absorption and multiplication (SAM) structures. The charac-terization experiments include voltage-current (V-I) measurements, spectral response and its variation with bias voltage and temperature, noise measurements, noise-equivalent-power (NEP) and detectivity cal-culations, and signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) estimation. A slight increasein the output signal was observed by increasing the bias voltage, whichwas associated with an increase in the noise level. Cooling down thedetectors reduces their noise and shifts the cutoff wavelength to shortervalues. Further improvement in the design and manufacturing process,by increasing the device gain and lowering its noise level, is necessary tomeet the required C02 lidar/DIAL specifications." @default.
