- W2188018578 abstract "The comparative nutritive mineral ions composition of seeds of medicinal plants such as Bitter gourd (Momordica charantia), Neem (Azardica indica) and Chick pea (Cicer ariatinum) was studied which are used in Ayurvedic medicines for diabetic patients in Subcontinent. Samples were prepared by dry ashing followed by acid digestion of the seeds of these plants. The selected mineral ions for study were Cr (III), Fe (II), Zn (II), Ni (II), Mn (II), Mg (II), Ca (II), K (I) and Na (I). They were analyzed spectrophotometrically by employing standard AOAC methods. The results showed that the concentration of Mg (II), K (I) and Na (I) were highest in Azardica indica seeds as compared to in other two species. While the concentration of Ca (II), Cr (III), Zn (II) and Mn (II) were higher in Momordica charantia. Cicer ariatinum seeds contain higher concentration of Na (I), Fe (II) and Ni (II) among these plant species." @default.
