- W2189088583 abstract "Two local strains of chickens (Mandarah (Mn) and Silver Montazah (SM)) and one commercial strain (Lohman Brown (LB)), were used in this study to produce three way crosses (SM x Mn x LB) and (Mn x SM x LB), where, a two way cross (Mn x LB) males was mated to two-way cross (SM xLB) females to produce a three way-cross. Moreover, the two-way cross(SM xLB) males cross (Mn xLB) females to produce another three-way cross. Whereas, LB contribution was 50% of the three-way cross and SM and Mn contributed with 25%, each. Negative heterosis percentage (H%) for age (ASM) and body weight at sexual maturity BWSM, Feed intake during (28-32 wks), (32- 36 wks), (36-40 wks) and (28-40 wks) of age for the three way cross were found, while the egg number traits during the first 90d. of laying (EN90), annual egg number (EN365) and feed conversion at different periods had positive heterosis percentage (H%). DNA was extracted from blood of the commercial strain (LB) and three way crosses. RAPD-PCR technique was applied to detect genetics similarity among chicken hybrid and the high parent using five short oligonucleotides primers (CAGGCCCTTC,TGCCGAGCTG, AATCGGGCTG, GTGACGTAGG and CAGCACCCAC). Whereas, the three-way crosses genetics simialroty (%) was estimated as 49% for the two three-way crosses and 74% between the three-way cross (Mn x SM xLB) and LB strain based on RAPD PCR. The RAPD-PCR data revealed that three way-cross (Mn x SM x LB was more genetically similar to LB, compared to the three way cross (SM x Mn x LB) and LB strain. Results of this study indicated that: 1- The three way-cross improved age at sexual maturity (157.2d), annual egg number (233 eggs), feed intake (114g/hen/d) and feed conversion (2.65kg.feed/kg.egg). Also, plasma Estradiol 17-β and progesteron hormones concentration were increased in the three crossbreeds compared to the pure strain. 2- The result of DNA analysis indicated that genetic similarity may coincide with percent heterosis, revealing that SM x Mn x LB cross was more efficiency than LB strain and the other cross and this result agree with the result of economic traits, hormones analysis and heterosis effect. 3- LB strain was genetically similar to Mn x Sm x LB cross brid than the other cross. 4- Homoezygosity in DNA of the high parent LB strain and certain crosses (Mn xSM xLB) reflects the absense of heterosis in these cross and high parent." @default.
