Humic acids are an important soil component that can improve nutrient availability and impact on other important chemical, biological, and physical properties of soils. Application of humic acid and calcium forms significantly affected maize dry weight and nutrients uptake except Mn and Zn uptake. The salts at no humic acid applications caused plant death, but no plant death was obtained in humic application (1.0 and 2.0g kg -1 ) doses in all of the salt type. The effects of salts in nutrient uptake were significant. Application of humic acid (1.0 and 2.0g kg -1 ) doses and calcium sulphate (CaSO4) increased dry weight and the N, P, K, Fe and Zn uptake of the maize plants. The soil pH was significantly decreased with application of humic acid. Also, the soil pH was significantly decreased with application of CaSO4 compared with control.
