In addition business models’ scientific research and practical implementation have not fully found common understanding. Value, value creation, delivery and capture play central roles in business model creation and form a basic principle for business model design. The primary purpose of the Master Thesis is to explore the literature review and discover where and how value is created and which elements, process and methods are essential and most beneficial for creating a customer-centric and value-based business model. Intention is to compose a business model framework, which has a scientific foundation, but is practical enough to interest and benefit the business practitioners. The development of additive manufacturing (AM) technology or threedimensional (3D) printing is expected to transform manufacturing and company business models.
