A model of dynamic analysis of competence (Coulet, 2011) has been used to measure the impact of activity explanation on the development of a technical competence. Explanation of tasks of varying complexity has been manipulated in two experimental studies; effects of activity explanation have been measured on objective performance, perceptions related to the task and final explanations. Participants who explained their activity not only performed better on the tasks, but also showed more positive perceptions of their relations to the task and a better ability to produce didactic explanations. Psychological processes involved in explaining activity and their implications are examined and discussed. Si de nombreuses recherches ont étudié l’impact de l’explicitation de l’activité sur les performances (ex., Chi, 2009), peu se sont préoccupées de son impact sur le développement d’une compétence. Nous partons d’un modèle d’analyse dynamique de la compétence (Coulet, 2011) pour mesurer l’impact de l’explicitation de l’activité sur le développement d’une compétence technique. Deux recherches expérimentales ont permis de manipuler l’explicitation de tâches plus ou moins complexes ; les effets de l’explicitation de l’activité ont été appréciés sur la performance objective, les perceptions liées à la tâche et les explicitations finales. Les participants amenés à expliciter leur activité ont non seulement obtenu de meilleures performances, mais témoignent également de perceptions plus positives de leurs relations à la tâche et d’une meilleure capacité à produire des explicitations didactiques. Les processus psychologiques en jeu lors de l’explicitation de l’activité et leurs implications sont examinées et discutées." @default.
