- W2203259170 abstract "The scientific study of cancer therapy relevant to the high-dose setting has required the development of preclinical models that go beyond the conventional dose endpoints of increase in life span and tumor growth delay. High-dose therapy can be modeled using the tumor cell survival assay, which allows tumor-bearing animals to be treated with “supralethal” doses of anticancer treatments with a quantitative measure of tumor cell killing. Furthermore, a stem-cell support regimen in mice has recently been developed in a murine system allowing observation of regression and regrowth of tumors after high-dose therapy. The ability to determine whether combination therapies, especially chemotherapy combinations, retain increasing efficacy in the high-dose setting is critical to the development of new treatment regimens and is an issue best addressed in the laboratory." @default.
