- W221072885 abstract "This paper describes how airport pavements are composed of flexible, intermediate or rigid stratified systems depending on the materials used. The loading characteristics come from the landing gear, which is equipped with tires that are different than those used on road transportation, because of their different geometry, pressure and pavement contact characteristics. The contact area of aeronautical tire is projected to warrant adequate aircraft weight distribution and sufficient aircraft safety to all operation patterns. The different landing gears bring distinct dynamic efforts and deflections. The runway and taxiway pavements project modeling is traditionally based on static calculus that is not supported by dynamic actions but only dynamic factors. This general consideration does not take into account the dynamic characteristics of the different landing gears inside the pavement structure." @default.
