Corporate planning is a major process within the strategic managment concept which furthers the operational and strategic decision making process at all hierarchy levels in the company. The situational assessment of market and competition is the main task of corporate planning. In addition with corporate culture as another strategic dimension this approach develops into a strategic management concept.In order to fulfil all these requirements the strategic planer has to take into consideration several hundreds of datas. The human information processing capacity allows in such situations only the intuitive and condensed assessment of corporate strategy. Using information technology minimizes this processing capacity problem. The integration of knowledge-based as well as conventional system components stands in the focus on discussion. Here, a blackboard-oriented approach is described which includes all necessary functions for the corporate planning task.
