- W2214894730 abstract "The terrorist attack of Sept.11 th , 2001 had a formidable impact on different areas of business segments in the U.S. Among those, the hospitality and tourism industry was one of the most disrupted sectors of business. However, it is not clear whether the detrimental consequences are temporary or will be long lasting. Although more than five years have passed since the attack occurred, there is still considerable concern and anxiety about what the future of the hospitality and tourism industry will hold. This paper examines the historical development of the U.S hospitality industry after the terrorist attack in 2001. More specifically, the primary focus of this paper is to identify performances and trends of the hospitality and tourism industry since Sept.11 th . The results of the study show that the effect of the Sept.11 th incidence was short lived. Based on this trend, it appears that the future of the hospitality and tourism industry is optimistic unless there is an occurrence of a similar incident. The paper also reviews changes in U.S government policies and the future challenges to the hospitality and tourism industry." @default.
