- W2216652384 abstract "Laparoscopic Adjustable Gastric Banding (LAGB) is the most commonly performed bariatric operation in Korea. LAGB is characterized by a relatively easy and safe for a suitable bariatric surgeon, effective weight loss, and short time of surgery and postoperative hospital stay. In the literature, it can bring the risk of postoperative complications which occurs in learning curve of the surgeon as well as during the band adjustment procedure. There are many descriptions of early or perioperative complications such as gastric perforation, wound infection, access port infection, acute stomal obstruction, misplacement of band, pouch-esophageal reflux. Also late complications such as band slippage, gastric prolapsed, gastric necrosis, band erosion, pouch dilatation, esophageal reflux, access port or tubing leakage, tubing disconnection and kinkage are described LAGB have been developed with growing number of obese people, improving surgical technique and devices, accumulating surgeon’s experiences. The optical techniques for LAGB and patient care including band adjustment are still evolving. The more the LAGB will be broadly accepted and the more the benefits of weight loss will be achieved across the population." @default.
