- W2227900880 abstract "No presente trabalho foram estudados tres modelos estatisticos para as estimativas das temperaturas medias mensais e anual, no Estado do Espirito Santo, para os locais desprovidos de estacoes meteorologicas. As analises de regressao linear multipla foram efetuadas com dados de temperaturas medias mensais e testaram-se equacoes envolvendo, alem da latitude e da altitude, os parâmetros 1ogitude e/ou distância da costa. Os modelos foram submetidos para o Estado,como um todo, para a regiao litorânea compreendida na faixa de 40 quilometros da costa e localizada em areas inferiores a 200 metros de altitude e para a regiao continental. Desconsiderando-se o modelo que inclui a variavel distância da costa, as equacoes desenvolvidas para a regiao continental e baseadas somente na latitude e altitude mostraram melhores estimativas de janeiro a julho e temperatura media anual. Por outro lado, as equacoes baseadas na latitude, altitude e longitude mostraram melhores correlacoes de agosto a dezembro. Para os meses de maio e junho, para a regiao continental, as equacoes desenvolvidas com as variaveis altitude e latitude sao as melhores para estimar a temperatura media do ar. Para os outros meses e, tambem, para a estimativa anual, o modelo que inclui a variavel distância da costa e o melhor. O modelo que inclui, alem da latitude e altitude, a distância da costa, mostrou, para a regiao costeira, bom ajustamento para a estimativa da temperatura media do ar de outubro a fevereiro e maio a julho. As equacoes desenvolvidas com as variaveis latitude e altitude se apresentam melhor ajustadas para os meses de marco, abril, agosto, setembro e para a estimativa anual. Abstract In the present paper three mathematical models were studied to estimate mean monthly and annual air temperature in the State of Espirito Santo, for location with no climatological stations. Taking in no account the model which includes the variable distance from the ocean coast, equations developed for continental region and based only on latitude and altitude show reasonable estimates of January thru july and annual mean air temperature. On the other hand, equations based on latitude, altitude and longitude to estimate air temperature show better correlations from August thru December. For the months of May and June for the continental area the equations developed with the variables altitude and latitude are the best to estimate monthly mean air temperature. For the other months and also for the annual estimate the model which includes the variable distance from the ocean coast is the best one. The model which includes besides latitude and altitude the distance from the ocean coast, for the coastal area, shows good fit for monthly mean air temperature from October thru February and May thru July. The equations developed with the variables latitude and altitude give reasonable results for the months of March, April, August and September and for mean annual air temperature estimates." @default.
