- W2233294566 abstract "In strategic management literature, it is suggested to consider internal and external developments while choosing and deciding path to sustain competitive advantage. This is equally important for both private and public sector organisations although they have different employment structure and financial motives. Indeed this systematic evaluation of forces in context of different organisational structures is more pertinent to develop proactive, competitive and successful corporate, functional and business level strategy. The paper presents comparative assessment of drivers of change in both public and private sector organisations that are expected to influence business operations and competitive landscape in future. The empirical findings reveal that managers in general are relatively more sensitive to external developments as compare to internally driven planned changes in both sectors. There is little difference found in terms of magnitude of perception of managers working in private and public sector organisations regarding these forces of change as threat and opportunity except variation in frequency of count." @default.
