- W2236305468 abstract "The paper discusses contemporary terror in the international air traffic as well as the issues of anti-terror activities. In addition to a his torical approach, it presents also a classification of air hijacking events worldwide. Apart from politically motivated perpetrators (terrorists), other persons attributable of an affective indifference may as well be po tential hijackers. Reasons for terrorist activity (as an internal power driv ing a terrorist to act) are still insufficiently known both to state protection authorities and to those involved in science, and therefore this issue should necessarily be studied in detail. The paper also points to a decisive importance of security services in the process of releasing hostages from a hijacked plane. In conclusion, it emphasizes the irreplaceable role of negotiating teams in hostage situations, and states that the international security system faces great challenges: how to preserve the collective se curity of the population and how to protect the public against political violence - terror - that is ever more difficult to control." @default.
