- W2243322682 abstract "This study first proposes a Multilevel Cross-Classified Logit model with Co-variation (MCCLCV model) to detect the co-variations which are the var-iations caused by two or more factors jointly, and then applies the model to travel mode choice behavior. In the empirical analysis, focusing on four different varia-tion types (spatial variations, inter-individual variations, intra-individual varia-tions, and co-variations between inter-individual and spatial variations), we first examine the existence of co-variation effects by comparing two models with and without co-variation terms by using Mobidrive data (a continuous six-week travel daily data). Here, the co-variations mean individual-specific spatial effects, proba-bly reflecting the different perceptions for same spaces among individuals. The re-sults indicate that there certainly exist co-variations especially for the utility dif-ferences in Bicycle and Public transport with respect to Car passenger. After that, we further introduce four sets of explanatory variables sequentially, and examine the sources of behavioral variations and figure out what types of influential factors are dominant in mode choice behavior." @default.
