• W2254696507 abstract "The aim of the paper is to provide a review of the literature on economic evaluation of environmental impacts. Due to the complex nature of environmental goods, their evaluation is a difficult task. At the same time, it could be interesting to explore alternative approaches to the standard neoclassical model that tried an evaluation of the environment. The paper is organized in three sections. The first analyzes some of the latest big and known environmental damages and the attempts made to evaluate them. The second reviews the standard literature trying to provide a definition and an evaluation of the total economic value of the environment. The final third part presents some of alternative approaches to estimate the value of the environment in a manner that differs from the standard neoclassical model. Obiettivo di questo paper e’ quello di fornire una rassegna della letteratura economica sulla valutazione dei beni ambientali. Tale esigenza nasce sia dalla consapevolezza che, data la natura del bene oggetto della valutazione, qualsiasi misurazione potra risultare incompleta e perfettibile, sia dall’ interesse nell’ analizzare come approcci alternativi al modello economico neoclassico hanno affrontato il problema della misurazione del bene ambiente. Partendo da alcuni gravi e conclamati disastri ambientali verificatisi nell’ultimo anno, si analizzano i metodi di domanda e non di domanda per la misurazione del valore economico totale dell’ambiente facendo riferimento a recenti e non, esempi forniti dalla letteratura economico;ambientale. La rassegna si conclude con l’analisi di alcuni approcci alternativi alla valutazione dell’ambiente basati su una parziale confutazione di alcune delle ipotesi alla base del modello economico neoclassico." @default.
