The collected data include an instructor's writing, students' assignments (i.e., resumes, autobiography, identity paper, and journal entries), and course evaluation questionnaires. Results of the study show that 1) overall, students consider the identity-related EFL composition class and the feedback technique helpful in enhancing EFL writing literacy; 2) overall, the identity-related EFL composition course work helps students become aware of their identities; and 3) the elicited identity types from data analysis are clustered into four categories: Identity within a learning environment, identity within the AFL department, identity within internal locus (self-regulation), and other identities within friendships, confusion, and morality. The study may inspire interested learners, instructors and researchers to rethink what matters in an English Composition class." @default.
