So the study aims to identify the correlation between structural empowerment and competencies of nurse managers on the performance of staff nurses. A correlational study conducted in a tertiary care hospital Muscat, 82 staff nurses and 28 nurse managers were selected as sample for the study. The results revealed, only 28% of nurses responded that their organization is providing them enough resources in their job. Majority 69.5% of nurse responded that they have good information about the goals and policies of their organization. Majority 85.4% responded that their organization is providing some power to carry out their job. Performance of nurses were depend on their job empowerment and did not depend on their nurse managers'competencies" @default.
