- W2264366170 abstract "This article describes the standardization of a new fluorimetric method, used at INDICASAT, in Panama, for measuring the inhibition growth of Plasmodium falciparum and based in the parasitic DNA detection, by means of intercalation with the Hoechs 33258 pigment. The levels of, in vitro, antipaludic activity against Plasmodium falciparum F32, sensible to chloroquine of a total of 5 well known active products were calculated by the “fluorimetric method” and compared with the results obtained with the “optical method”. The values for percentaje of inhibition as well as the Medium Inhibitory Concentration (IC 50 ) indicated total coherence, and no significative variations in their values was observed. The fluorimetric method with the Hoechst 33258 pigment is fast, reproducible and of easy interpretation, and therefore it is an ideal method for the screening of large quantity of samples with potential antipaludic activity." @default.
