- W2265586886 abstract "Business Strategic Alliances (SAs) is an increasing phenomenon in most industries and in all geographic regions. As a result, a growing number of academic studies have focused on the advantages and costs of participating in an association of this kind part of the greater universe of Strategic Alliances. An important subset of SAs is that characterized by the participation of developed countries’ firms and emerging countries’ firms. Most published studies on this subject refer to SAs among developed countries’ firms or among developed countries’ firms and emerging countries’ firms, but always adopting the perspective of the partner from the developed country. This paper looks at Strategic Alliances of firms based in Brazil, Chile and Mexico, with foreign partners. We make use of a “Benchmarking” technique based on survey data for more than 250 local firms in those three countries. The statistical analysis utilizes Factor Analysis and ANOVA tests to determine the position of national subsets with respect to the sample mean. Some conclusions and practical recommendations are presented at the end, based on the statistical results." @default.
