- W2269834522 abstract "21 women aged 20 to over 40 years with sideropenic anemia due to hypermenorrhea were subjected to cytoserological examinations to determine the basis of the cyclical disruption and its secondary cause of anemia. Serological studies showed a hemoglobin value of 8.74% as compared with 14.2 gr% in control samples. Cytohormonal examinations revealed weak progesterone activity during the 2nd phase of the cycle in 8 patients weak activity of both ovarian hormones throughout the entire cycle in 4 patients hyperfolliculinemia in the 2nd phase in 5 a normal hormonal cycle in 3 and weak activity of estrogen in the 1st phase of the cycle in 1. The results are considered to point to the significance of progesterone insufficiency in the 2nd phase which is attributed to luteal insufficiency or secondary inhibition of progesterone secretion as a result of hyperfolliculinemia. Hormonal therapy in this direction is considered the most appropriate basic therapy for sideropenic anemia." @default.
