Such approaches can possibly be less time consuming as well as improve the predictive power of such assays. For example, the extrinsic properties acquired as a result of coronalization (hitchhiking of therapeutically relevant endogenous growth factors or cytokines conferring favorable size and charge properties) should also be clearly delineated in suitable in vivo model systems. Such systems should mimic interindividual differences in the levels of these factors in different physiological/pathophysiological/pathological microenvironments.
