- W2275274312 abstract "In this paper we intend to study the interaction between an unstable boundary layer flow and a flexible structure, in order to assess the hydrodynamic noise that may result from this interaction. Direct numerical simulations of the evolution of the total boundary layer over a thin clamped elastic plate are performed, the dynamics of the strong interaction between the plate displacement and the pressure being taken into account by a fractional step method. These simulations, completed by spectral analysis in time and space, highlight resonance and added mass phenomena that occur on the plate, and show that plate vibrations may generate pressure oscillations with relatively high frequencies and short spatial scales, which may be relevant for hydrodynamic noise generation.
