- W2276452541 abstract "Improper nitrogen and phosphorus application and land use strategies were the main causes for the nitrogen and phosphorus loss which contribute greatly to the agricultural non-point source pollution. In this study, a calibrated and validated SWAT model were applied to investigate the loss of nitrogen and phosphorus under 6 different fertilization scenarios with two different land use patterns at the lake shore areas in Miyun Reservoir. The results showed that the current total nitrogen loss reached about 1427 t per year in the research region. In contrast, the current total phosphorus loss was not so seriously in the region with about 0.7 t loss per year and little decreased under the improved scenarios. It was indicated controlling the nitrogen loss in the region was urgently needed in the lakeshore region of Miyun Reservoir; different land use scenarios and nutrient management strategies showed different impacts on nitrogen and phosphorus loss. The total nitrogen loss can be reduced by about 4.81% to 33.04% under the current land use pattern when optimized nitrogen, but the total phosphorus control effect is only 0.38% -0.84% By contrast, under the optimized land use scenario, the total nitrogen loss can be reduced more effectively with about 16% to 43% of decrease, and the total phosphorus pollution loss can be decreased 5% to 14%; the combination of optimized fertilizer management strategies and optimized land use strategy can control the nitrogen and phosphorus losses more effectively." @default.
