Palabras claveRecuperacion espontanea Extincion InhibicionABSTRACTSPONTANEOUS RECOVERY OF LEARNED BEHAVIOR: THEORETICAL MODELS AND CONFUSIONS IN THE CONCEPT OF INHIBITION Spontaneous recovery of conditioned behavior is one of the most important phenomena of Pavlovian conditioning; it refers to the observation that after extinction of a previously established conditioned response, this response is partially recovered after a time without training. Theories of spontaneous recovery might have important implications for the understanding of the phenomenon of extinction itself. However, there is currently no general agreement on the psychological mechanisms implicated in this processes. Here we discuss current models of extinction and spontaneous recovery, and several aspects of Pavlov’s (1927) concept of inhibition in the light of recent experimental findings.Key wordsSpontaneous recovery Extinction Inhibition" @default.
