- W2277690206 abstract "This study sets out to propose the conflict and contradiction inherent in Pannenberg’s understanding of history. Even though openness and closedness of the future are legitimate characteristics of Christian tradition in relation to the interpretation of history, apparently this raises a logical contradiction. In order to overcome this contradictory phenomena, we need to locate a wider frame of reference with which seemingly contradictory bipolar entities could be integrated. Where can we find such a frame of reference? It is in the complementarity principle proposed by Niels Bohr that we can integrate seemingly contradictory phenomena. For instance, we can think of the nature of light as wave as well as particle. Though these two constitute contradictory pictures as characteristics of light, they need to be complemented by each other to provide a full nature of the light. We can tell that Niels Bohr is successful in replacing Newtonian world view with a wider and profounder frame of reference through his interpretation of quantum physics. What kind of implications for Christian education can we draw from this inquiry of the contribution of Bohr’s complementarity principle? Since Christian education is a branch of practical theology, this kind of interdisciplinary study between theology and science throws meaningful insights and implications for Christian education. Among those there are the significance of interdisciplinary study, wider frame of reference for Christian education, marginal control of transformational education over socializational education, proper understanding of the Triune God and not only individual but also corporate participation in the divine as well as human koinonia." @default.
