- W2277817488 abstract "The present work describes Labview s simulation of solar radiation on tilted planes and applications such as PV panel optimization, incident energy on facades, solar trackers comparison and shading losses. Calculation of direct and diffuse component of solar radiation on horizontal surfaces was made by Hottel and Liu-Jordan methods, respectively. The energy received for this kind of plane was simulated entering irradiance values every five minutes approximately depending on daytime hours and performing a numeric integration on this function. Then we use this data to deduce solar radiation received by a tilted plane at any slope and orientation. We used Labview s power and versatility on finding out the best conditions for PV panels operation and facades orientation. Finally, we present a case from a rural community in Ecuador where we proposed a simple, cheap improvement for a PV panel based on results obtained from this simulation." @default.
