- W2279351070 abstract "This paper studies glasses with Cu and Cl photochromic additives in various tellurite systems. It is established that the photochromic effect can only be realized successfully in glases which have a liquid-phase separation region: TeO/sub 2/-B/sub 2/O/sub 3/-La/sub 2/O/sub 3/ and TeO/sub 2/-B/sub 2/O/sub 3/-P/sub 2/O/sub 5/. The authors study one glass in each system which they call PCGTe1 and PCGTe2. The two systems have high refractive indices in the visible region of the spectrum. The photochromic effect is observed in these glasses activated by silver halide. The chemical analysis showed that when PCGTe1 and PCGTe2 were melted the loss of Ag was less than 1% from the added amount; the loss of Cl was less than or equal to 11%. The main parameter for controlling the size of the halide silver phase in tellurite PCG becomes the duration of the heat treatment. The temperature regions of the secondary heat treatment have been determined. The dependence of the position of the longwave absorption edges of the glasses on the duration of the secondary heat treatment is studied. The spectra of photoinduced absorption of the glasses have been measured and the kinetics of their darkening and relaxation studied." @default.
