- W2286230131 abstract "In Buddhism, humans exist not between relationship of two subjects of creator and created, or heaven and earth, but they exist between world of ignorance and world of awakening solely based on their mindset. It is noteworthy that this existence is not in form of mere floating, but in progression of distinctive direction: of awakening from ignorance(轉迷開悟). The fact that humans live in a two-tiered complex world of ignorance and awakening and move from one state to another merely requires change in mindset reflects that study of humans in Buddhism begin with exploration of in setting of non-essential reality and essential possibility or that of contamination and purity. This scrutiny of humans in setting of contamination and purity stands in contrast to view of humans in setting of rationality and animality, good and evil, and stillness (靜) and motion (動) in West, Confucianism, and Taoism, respectively. The Buddhist view of humans can be summarized as mind by nature is pure, and it is not a subject that can be soiled(心性本淨客塵所染). Prajnaparamita-sutra and Madhyamika argue that basis for belief mind by nature is pure, and it is not a subject that can be soiled lies on emptiness, but they do not go in-depth to explain what happens inside itself. Yogacara attempts to gain a comprehensive understanding of setting of purity and contamination expressed in above belief through notion of alaya-vijnana (阿賴耶識). Yogacara attempts to compile two-tiered complexity of ignorance and awakening and contamination and purity embedded in everyday human life and possibility of realization of awakening from ignorance, which is also expressed as the acquisition of truth through transformation of consciousness (轉識得智) in Yogacara, by way of alaya-vijnana and three-nature theory. Nevertheless, it puts more emphasis on notion the is not a subject that can be soiled that explains mindset of an ordinary person rather than on part the by nature is pure. tathagata-garbha thought belief seeks integration of two parts by developing on notion the by nature is pure. Tathagata-garbha implies two-tiered complexity of ignorance and awakening as reflected on statement mind by nature is pure, and it is not a subject that can be soiled, and nature shows that its theoretical foundation lies on emptiness; both concepts of tathagata-garbha and nature point to possibility of deliverance for sattva. nature is more than a simple translated term, but it embeds interaction between Buddhist philosophy and traditional Chinese philosophy. Hypostatization of nature has reaffirmed that nature can be found in one`s as human nature to follower of Buddhism in China. Furthermore, noumenaliation of nature stirred realization of fact that mentalized nature is no different from in true nature as essential principle of all virtues. It clearly follows that human nature is nature, and more specifically Buddha nature as emptiness in Buddhism. nature as can overcome limitations of humanism to result in theory of human nature that brings together nature and humans in harmony. nature and Dharma nature are both emptiness, and it follows that nature of humans and other parts of world meet in commonality of emptiness." @default.
