Essentially, the goal is to analyze the changing demographic and socioeconomic characteristics of state legislative districts. While African American state legislators typically represent majority Black districts, a growing number of districts represented by Black state legislators are majority minority. Hence, the study seeks to determine whether or not the changing nature of these districts influence legislatorsﾒ behavior and responsiveness measured in terms of their bill sponsorship activity on minority-related policy issues." @default.
