• W2290988928 abstract "The book analyses activities of Russian state-owned energycompanies in the region of the Central and Eastern Europe andoffers a complex analysis of their behavioural patterns withregard to the operational environment. The main incentives formaking this study were traditionally strong ties between theRussian Federation and the region as well as currentlyworsening relations between Russia and the West, especiallywith regard to the crisis in Ukraine. The study focuses on thesectors of nuclear energy and natural gas where Russianinfluence is perceived as especially sensitive. The aim of thestudy was to find out whether Russian state-owned enterprisesin the aforementioned sectors can be perceived as foreignpolicy tools. The study is a result of an extensive researchproject conducted by a research team consisting of analystsfrom the Faculty of Social Studies, Masaryk University and thePrague-based think-tank Prague security Studies Institute. Forthe purpose of the study, the research team developedbehavioural models upon which behavioural patterns of theRussian companies Gazprom and Rosatom were assessed. The studyis focused on 12 countries and includes also an extensive fieldresearch and use of analytical software. For complexunderstanding of the strategy of both aforementioned companies,chapters aimed on their position in Asia as well as the chapterconcerned with the energy policy of the European Union areincluded. Given the complexity of the presented study, thefindings can be used by both broader public and experts, aswell as practitioners and decision makers in stateadministration and private sector." @default.
