Business enterprises can continue to increase its firm performance through global marketing strategy in the international market, thus the relationship between performance and marketing strategy have become important issue for academic research and marketing practice.This study aim to understand the relation between global marketing strategy and firm performance, and proposed that global marketing strategy is influenced by internal and external factors, which in turn affect firm performance. Reviewing the prior literature, many researches focus on firm performance in the international marketing context and suggest that firm performance is influenced by global marketing strategy. However, there is a dearth of empirical study on the fundamental issue in the literature. In order to bridge the gaps of previous researches, this study used the survey data of the manufacturing firm in Taiwan to empirically test the relationships among global marketing strategy, market orientation, global market characteristics, international experience, and firm performance.The study developed a theoretical model to explore the relationship between global marketing strategy and firm performance. To empirically test the hypothesized relationships, 1040 questionnaires were mailed to the manufacturing firms in Taiwan and 182 of them provided complete information. As a result, the general findings indicate that (1) the internal drivers (international experience and market orientation) affect global marketing strategy.(2) the external drivers (global market characteristics) affect global marketing strategy.(3) global marketing strategy has a positive effect on firm performance (4) international experience and market orientation has a positive effect on firm performance." @default.
