- W2294818341 abstract "Abstract TRIPOD-DNS, a dansyl conjugated tripod undergoes aggregation in solutions containing more than 50% water and exhibits 68% quantum efficiency in 98% aqueous medium. The aggregation of TRIPOD-DNS has been confirmed by dynamic light scattering (DLS), and transmission electron microscopic studies. In 98% aqueous medium, TRIPOD-DNS detects 2,4,6-trinitrophenol (TNP) in a highly selective manner amongst aromatic compounds and can detect as low as 10 pM TNP. Only 1% molecules of TNP quench 50% fluorescence intensity of the solution of TRIPOD-DNS and reveal amplified quenching of fluoresence of TRIPOD-DNS. Stern–Volmer constant (KSV) determined by exponential equation (I/Io = Aek[Q] + B) is 1.57 × 109 M−1. The paper strips coated with TRIPOD-DNS can detect as low as 13.2 ag/cm2 (13.2 × 10−18 g/cm2) TNP both in qualitative and quantitative manner. 1H NMR, DFT and life time measurement studies support static process and ground state electron transfer from HOMO of TNP to LUMO of TRIPOD-DNS responsible for fluorescence quenching." @default.
