Une telle tendance est déjà marquee dans la fabrication des composants, notamment par I'introduction de machines automaiques dont certaines sont des robots utilisant des informations provenant d'une description numérique du projet de batiment. - Le projet SOFFITO se propose d'illustrer, sur un ensemble de taches définies concernant Ie traitement des parois, les problemes souleves par l'introduction de la robotique dans Ic secteur du Batiment et, en particulier, de la robotique mobile. La realisation et les essais d'une maquette,. puis de prototypes, seront seuls en mesure de faire émerger les specificités des tãches a automatiser et de proposer des solutions realistes. II est clair que l'enjeu est, non seulement technique, mais egalement socio-Cconornique et humain. Actuellement, le Cahier des Charges du robot mobile a ete defini et la maquette est en cours de realisation. Cet article decrit les specifications de la maquette en insistant sur la manière dont ont etC prises en compte les contraintes liees au Bátiment. Increasing use of informatics in the Building Construction Industry will probably lead in a near future to significant changes of both traditional tools and methods. Such a trend is already noticeable in some building component factories where manufacturing processes are fully automated. Some robots are in use that are actuated from numerical datas coming from the building description. The aim of SOFFITO project is to point out the problems encountered by the introduction of robots, and-particularly mobile robots, on a construction site. The design and the tests of an experimental model will be the most efficient way to set these problems and to define suitable solutions. -. -Technical problems but also economical and social aspects will be examined. Nowaday, the specifications of a mobile robot, that will firstly be dedicated to interior painting tasks, have been defined. These specifications are presented in this paper focusing on the way the contraints of a building working site have been taken into consideration.
