- W2300805217 abstract "O presente estudo teve como objetivo verificar no nivel de aplicabilidade do IAC, comparado a outras tecnicas indiretas de avaliacao da composicao corporal (IMC e DC). A amostra intencional foi constituida por 60 criancas do sexo masculino com idades entre 10 e 14 anos. Foi coletado o peso e a estatura para calculo do IMC. Na verificacao do %G, foi utilizado o protocolo de Slaughter que sugere a soma das Dobras Cutâneas (DC) do Triceps e Panturrilha Medial (TR+PM). O calculo do IAC foi realizado dividindo-se a medida da circunferencia do quadril (cm), pela altura (m), multiplicada pela raiz quadrada da altura (m), e diminui-se 18 do resultado final. Para o tratamento estatistico foi utilizado o software Med Calc, aonde se calculou a estatistica descritiva (Media e DP), foi realizado o teste de normalidade de Spearman para determinacao do grau de correlacao e tambem o metodo de Bland Altman para verificar o grau de concordância entre o IMC, o IAC e o %G com nivel de significância em p<0,05. Recorreu-se ao teste do Qui-quadrado, para determinar a associacao entre as frequencias percentuais nos resultados obtidos entre os metodos antropometricos. Foram encontradas correlacoes significativas entre IMC x %G (r= 0,738; p <0,001); IMC x IAC (r= 0,678; p <0,001) e entre IAC x %G (r= 0,687; p <0,001). Pode-se concluir que o IAC pode nao ser uma ferramenta viavel e precisa para diagnosticar a gordura corporal em criancas de 10 a 14 anos de idade. ABSTRAC Applicability of adiposity index body in estimate of body fat in male studentsThe present study aimed to verify the level of applicability of the BAI, compared to other indirect techniques for assessing body composition (BMI and DC). The purposive sample consisted of 60 male children aged between 10 and 14 years. Weight and height to calculate BMI were collected. Verification of the %BF, the protocol Slaughter suggests that the sum of the Skin Folds (DC) of the triceps and medial calf (TR + PM) was used. The calculation was performed by dividing the BAI to measure the hip circumference (cm); the height (m) multiplied by the square root of the height (m), and 18 decreases the final result. For the statistical analysis we used the MedCalc software, where they calculated the descriptive statistics (Mean and SD), the normality test for determining the Spearman correlation degree and also the method of Bland Altman was performed to verify the degree of agreement between BMI, BAI and %BF with a significance level of p<0.05. We used the chi-square, to determine the association between the percentage frequencies in results between anthropometric methods. Significant correlations between BMI x %BF (r= 0.738; p <0.001) were found; BAI x BMI (r= 0.678; p<0.001) and between BAI x %BF (r= 0.687; p <0.001).
