- W2312508049 abstract "Immunologically active polysaccharide-peptide complexes isolated from mycelia of Trichophyton mentagrophytes were treated by enzymatic digestion with pepsin, trypsin, papain and chymotrypsin, and their chemical compositions and immunological characteristics were examined. It was found that the polysaccharide moieties in the complexes were not attacked by proteolytic digestion, although peptide content decreased drastically. The polysaccharide moieties of the complexes consisted of mannose, galactose and glucose, in a ratio of 5 : 2.5 : 1, and the peptide moieties were composed of various amino acids : serine, threonine, proline, glycine, alanine, aspartic acid, and small amounts of phenylalanine and glutamic acid.Enzymatic degradation of the peptide part may cause loss of a past of the precipitation arc of these complexes, while the other precipitation arcs do not change in length and density. The fractions thus obtained are discussed from the immunological point of view." @default.
