- W2313559257 abstract "The six tombs are located close together north of Mt. Scopus and the Hebrew University at map reference 172.97/134.70 just above the 800 m. contour line. The Giv'at Ha-mivtar tombs are west of this complex across Nablus Road (fig. 1). Tomb 1 was opened by the contractor's bulldozer and led to the south to an open forecourt (fig. 7:1). This forecourt measures 3.92 m. long x 2.60 m. wide at the southwest end and 3.00 m. wide at the northeast end. The above mentioned tomb 1 opened off the north, long side of the forecourt while tomb 6 gave off the east, narrow end. The debris was greatly disturbed here, but there remained 1.36 m. of a wall at the northwest corner of the narrow side of the forecourt. This wall was 0.40 m. thick with a finished face on the east or inside the forecourt. Its stones were local limestone ashlars, the largest of which measured 0.60 x 0.40 x 0.40 m. (fig. 7:2). Opposite tomb 1 were traces of three badly eroded steps cut into the bedrock. These steps were 1.60 m. wide at maximum. It was impossible to determine if they had been faced, but probably they functioned as a simple entryway into the forecourt from the ancient ground level. Tomb 1 was a kokh-type tomb with five burial slots (fig. 3). The main doorway was blocked by two stones. The actual doorstone was rabbeted to fit in" @default.
