Operational accuracy, operational efficiency and operation cost which are the fundamental evaluative characteristics of industrial robots are first analyzed. The relationships among these three evaluative characteristics are clarified using a multiobjective optimization strategy. Then, the operations of industrial robots are categorized according to the required operational accuracy and efficiency levels.
