A large part of the city is located on an alluvial basin. The Government of Turkey prepared a new law in the name of urban transformation. With the purpose of replanning/microzonation, the settlement areas, especially structures damaged during the previous earthquakes, were analysed in order to determine ground classification and group. This can be determined by using geophysical, geological and geotechnical studies.According to international regulations, shear wave velocity to a depth of 30 meters is needed for soil classification and soil group. Moreover, one of the most important parameters to determining damage from a possible earthquake is Vs30 map. In this study, a Vs 30 map of the city's central districts (Nilufer, Osmangazi, Yildirim, Kestel) has been prepared by using multi-channel analysis of surface wave (MASW-MAM) measurements (231 different points) which have been collected since 2008. Especially, for the purpose of urban transformation in 2012, shear wave velocity measurements were collected at 250 meter intervals in the seven districts of the town of Yıldırım. According to the Turkish Earthquake Code, a large part of the study area is classified as Z3-C (200<vs<400) 10=“” 200=“” a=“” alluvial=“” and=“” are=“” area=“” area.=“” deposits=“” due=“” effect=“” every=“” floor=“” for=“” important=“” liquefaction=“” local=“” m=“” map=“” meters.=“” more=“” of=“” p=“” parts=“” prepared=“” problems=“” show=“” site=“” soil=“” some=“” study=“” that=“” the=“” to=“” we=“” z4-d=“”> </vs<400)= Permalink: https://doi.org/10.4133/sageep2013-077.1FiguresReferencesRelatedDetails Symposium on the Application of Geophysics to Engineering and Environmental Problems 2013ISSN (online):1554-8015Copyright: 2013 Pages: 821 publication data© 2013 Published in electronic format with permission by the Environment and Engineering Geophysical SocietyPublisher:Environmental & Engineering Geophysical Society HistoryPublished: 28 May 2013 CITATION INFORMATION Savas KARABULUT, Ferhat Ozcep, Nazire Imre, Okan Tezel, Hatice Yeziz, Faruk Caglak, Nuray ALPASLAN, Tazegül ÖZÇEP, and Guldane BOYRAZ, (2013), VS30 MAP OF SOILS IN BURSA CITY CENTER, Symposium on the Application of Geophysics to Engineering and Environmental Problems Proceedings : 770-770. https://doi.org/10.4133/sageep2013-077.1 Plain-Language Summary PDF DownloadLoading ..." @default.
