- W2317082020 abstract "Bluish-green Ba3Si6O9N4:Eu2+ phosphors were synthesized by Ba3SiO5:Eu2+ precursor and solid-state reaction methods, and their photoluminescence (PL) properties were investigated. A single phase of Ba3Si6O9N4 was formed in the precursor method whereas a mixture of Ba3Si6O9N4 and Ba3Si6O12N2 phases was obtained in the solid-state reaction method. The as-synthesized Ba3Si6O9N4:Eu2+ phosphor exhibited a single band emission centered at 487 nm under the excitation of λex = 400 nm, and the emission intensity increased by ∼20 times when the temperature was reduced from 298 to 10 K. The effects of starting material composition, calcination temperature, and Eu2+ doping concentration on the phase formation and PL characteristics were examined. The peak intensity of Ba3Si6O9N4:Eu2+ was about 10% of Ba3Si6O12N2:Eu2+ at 298 K, but its thermal stability was comparable to that of Ba3Si6O12N2:Eu2+ in the range of 298–473 K." @default.
