But conventional anisotropic migration is restricted by its inefficiency in either modeling azimuthal velocity variations for large offsets or characterizing subsurface raypaths. Considering the fact that prestack time migration (PSTM) is still widely applied for most practical purposes, we first propose a concise traveltime formula by simplifying quartic moveout coefficient A4 towards PSTM, and then present a local angle-domain PSTM system, in which reflection migration and directional migration allows for reasonable utilization of recorded seismic data. Tests on a fractured physical model are preformed to verify improvements on dynamic fracture detection brought by reflection migration, in which statistics of predicted fracture intensity and orientation are also given as supporting evidences. Besides, imaging quality and lateral continuity can also be greatly enhanced with the help of specularity-weighted stack after directional migration.
